€35,5M for the Retromobile 2023 sale!
On 3, 4 and 5 February, Artcurial Motorcars presented the 2023 edition of its traditional event sale at the Retromobile Show, which totaled €35,5M. Conducted by Hervé Poulain, Matthieu Lamoure and Pierre Novikoff in front of a packed saleroom, this year's exceptional and varied line-up attracted strong bidding with 75% of the vehicles changing hands.
The Automobilia sale on Sunday 5 February, hosted by Anne-Claire Mandine and Matthieu Lamoure also enjoyed great success, with 85% of the lots selling.
Once again, Artcurial Motorcars confirms its long established reputation for selling collections: eight of them were presented this year and met with great success. The Bart Rosman Collection was especially awaited, with his Ferrari 340 America Barchetta Touring Superleggera sold for €5,706,000, the 1929 Bugatti Type 35 C sold for €2,216,800 and the 1931 Bugatti Type 43 Grand Sport “Prima Donna” sold for €1,530,400. The Facel Vega Collection of Alain Ragout was sold in its entirety, notably with the 1962 Facel Vega HK II reaching €202,640.

Worth to be mentioned the 24 of the 25 cars belonging to a Belgian enthusiast auctioned during the sale, including the 1973 Dino 246 GTS sold for €429,120 or the important Dutch Collection who has delighted many collectors with the 1964 Ferrari 250 GT/L Lusso sold for €1,702,000.
Amongst the many Porsche that came under the hammer were two that attracted particular attention: the 1987 Porsche 959 Komfort sold for €1,037,040 and the 1991 Porsche 962C sold for €1,072,800.
The “Barnfind” cars category was marked by an exceptional lot, a 1975Lamborghini Countach LP400 sold for €953,600. It had been stored for a decade at the seller's property on an island off the Atlantic coast and was presented in exceptionally well-conserved condition.
With less than 24,400 km on the clock, the 1992 Ferrari F40 changed hands for €2,216,800 and the 1979 Mercedes Benz 500 SLC factory rally car, presented exactly as it finished 5th in the Bandama Rally in 1980, was sold for 816 520 €.

A selection of atypical vehicles was also offered for sale, including the extraordinary flying saucer from the Renault Icons Collection, 2328 Reinastella Soucoupe Volante, which captured the attention of multiple bidders in the room and on the telephone and was finally sold for 71 520 €.

Jean-Paul Belmondo’s boat, the 1964 Riva Super Florida called ‘Elodie 1’, after his first wife sold for €303,960
The 1970 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona by Scaglietti that belonged to the singer Christophe sold for €655,600
Johnny Hallyday’s 1979 Porsche 911 SC, prepared by the Almeras Brothers at the singer’s request sold for €190,720
