Buying at Artcurial

DISCOVER OUR SALES

For each sale, Artcurial provides you with a catalogue describing and illustrating the lots offered. These catalogues also provide practical information about the sale, including locations, dates, and times for lot viewing.

To discover our catalogues online, please visit the Sales Calendar page. Additionally, we print paper catalogues, available through Subscription, for certain sales.

You also have the option to set up Lot Alerts from your personal account to be notified by email as soon as a lot you are interested in is put up for sale. Finally, sign up for our newsletters to receive notifications about catalogue releases.

BIDDING

Physical sales
From the Sales Calendar page, select the sale you wish to participate in and click "Register to bid." You can also register for a sale by contacting our Bids department at bids@artcurial.com.

You have four options:

  • Bid in person using your bidder number if you have registered for the sale in advance (recommended)
  • Submit a written absentee bid to our auction office if you are unable to attend the sale
  • Bid by phone (a representative will call you when the lot you are interested in comes up for bidding and bid on your behalf) after requesting this service from our Bid department
  • Bid in real-time online using the Artcurial Live Bid platform

All sales at Artcurial are accompanied by catalogues featuring descriptions and illustrations of the works offered. The catalogue also states the venue, date and time of the pre-sale viewing. Catalogues, and the Auction Calendar, can also be consulted on our website.

Online Only Sales
Some sales take place exclusively online on the Artcurial Live Bid platform. After registering, you can directly place bids throughout the duration of the sale. The online catalogue is only visible from the start of the sale. The sale closes on the last day, starting at 12pm. The platform then sells each lot at a rate of one lot per minute.

PAYING FOR A LOT

Payment for a lot can be made by bank transfer, credit card, check, or in cash (limited amount). Please consult the general conditions on the page of each sale to learn the details of the payment conditions.

COLLECTING A LOT

Lots can be collected after full payment has been made. Bulky lots that are not collected after the sale are transported to our warehouses where they can be collected from three days after the sale.

Artcurial's Shipping department organizes all administrative procedures (transport, customs, temporary importation, etc.) at your request and remains at your disposal for any information at the address shipping@artcurial.com.
